Frequently asked questions

Does the app need internet?

No. All reference content ships inside the app and works offline. Opening an official authority link requires a connection, because it opens that website in your browser.

Where is my data stored?

On your device, in the app's private storage. Nothing is uploaded. See the Privacy Policy.

How do I use it?

1. Open the app and tap + to add a project: name, address, state, metro or remote, and project type.
2. Compliance — pick your state to read permit thresholds, eligibility, application materials, BASIX (NSW) and building insurance notes. Tap any official link to open the authority page.
3. Materials — choose a calculator, enter your dimensions and waste allowance, and read the quantity to order and its cost estimate.
4. Checklist — work through the six phases and tick items off as you go.
5. Budget — log what you spend and see paid, unpaid and total.
6. More — add site photos by construction phase, and export a PDF report.

Where do the prices come from?

They are static reference ranges compiled from published Australian industry cost guides, adjusted by a state-level coefficient. They are not supplier quotes and exclude GST, labour, delivery and site-specific costs. The app never scrapes prices or fetches live pricing.

Is it free?

Yes. Every feature is available at no cost, and there is nothing to purchase in the app.

Are the figures official?

No. Compliance, approval and insurance content is a general summary of publicly available information and is not building, legal or council advice — always confirm current rules with the relevant state authority and your local council. Material and cost figures are static reference ranges, not supplier quotes.

How do I delete my data?

Delete individual projects, photos and entries inside the app. Deleting the app removes all of its data.
